Privacy, with intention.
This Privacy Policy explains how Miel handles information across Miel Web, Sparky, Miel Bot, and related services. We aim to collect less, keep it for only as long as needed, and make the boundaries of our responsibility clear.
Scope and responsibility
Miel is operated by The Mythos Company. This Policy applies to the Miel website, applications, APIs, and related experiences that link to it. It describes information processed by Miel and the role of services that help us provide authentication, hosting, security, and AI functionality.
Miel uses a shared-responsibility model. We design our products to minimize information handled by Miel, while external service providers process the information needed to deliver a feature under their own terms and privacy notices. Their practices may differ from ours.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Miel, we may process:
- Account information. Your email address, name, authentication identifiers, and account or session details.
- Content you submit. Prompts, messages, code, files, instructions, and other material you choose to send through an AI feature.
- Service information. Product settings, selected model or feature, timestamps, request status, usage measurements, and diagnostic information needed to operate the service.
- Device and connection information. Information such as browser type, operating system, approximate location derived from an IP address, and security or error logs that may be generated by our hosting and infrastructure.
- Communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support, feedback, or legal requests.
We do not ask you to submit sensitive personal information, confidential business information, or regulated data to an AI feature. If you choose to do so, you are responsible for having the right to disclose it and for assessing whether Miel is appropriate for that use.
How we use information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide, authenticate, maintain, and improve Miel;
- route a request to the feature or external service needed to answer it;
- secure the service, prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and enforce our Terms;
- respond to support, privacy, and account requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Miel and its users.
Miel does not sell your personal information. Miel does not use your prompts or responses to train an Miel foundation model. We may use aggregated or de-identified operational information where it no longer reasonably identifies a person or account.
Authentication and Supabase
Miel uses Supabase for authentication and related account and session services. When you create an account or sign in, Supabase may process the account information required to authenticate you, maintain a session, send verification messages, and protect the service. Supabase is an independent service provider with its own privacy terms.
Miel Web does not use Supabase as default transcript storage. Conversation content in Miel Web is kept in the active browser session and is not saved to Miel's application database by default. Authentication data and security records are separate from that design and may be retained as needed to keep accounts working and secure.
External processing
To generate a response, Miel may transmit the content of your request and the context needed for that request to an external AI service selected by the deployment configuration. Those services may process, retain, or delete data under their own policies, contracts, and technical settings. Miel cannot override a service's independent retention or security practices.
Where the configured service supports a verified zero-data-retention control, Miel can request that control and fails closed when strict privacy mode is enabled but the service cannot meet the configured requirement. This is a technical safeguard, not a promise that every external service offers zero retention.
Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including account operation, security, support, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention periods can differ by data type and by the systems involved.
Miel Web is configured to avoid saving conversation transcripts by default. Temporary processing, backups, security logs, and records required by law may exist for a limited period. Deletion from Miel does not automatically delete information already processed by an external service; those requests must be directed to that service where applicable.
Security
Miel uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted connections for external requests, server-side handling of AI credentials, access controls, data minimization, and privacy defaults that avoid local conversation persistence.
No service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not use Miel to transmit information that requires a security or compliance commitment Miel has not expressly provided in writing.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about the processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
To make a request, contact general@themiel.ink. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained when required by law or needed for security and dispute resolution.
Children
Miel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Miel, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our services, practices, or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date above and, when a change is material, provide additional notice through the service or another appropriate channel.
